It's been a long time since I've heard and seen God move like He did in South Africa. Last week brought a new picture on God's work and care for "the least of these." Living Hope (John and Avril Thomas founders) is quite possibly the most Biblical organization I've ever seen.
Living Hope
Living Hope- ministers to those sick and on their last breath because of HIV/AIDS diagnosis.
Living Grace- a homeless feeding location (not a shelter) that gives grace and love to those on the streets. Short devotions and Praise songs are done before a hot meal is served.
Living Way- teaches those living with HIV/AIDS life skills (proper diet, hygiene, educated ways to take their medicines) and also gives them training for skilled jobs (sewing, computer skills, artistry).
Life Skills Educators- (who I absolutely fell in love with) are people pouring their lives into an assigned community. Our team got to work with the Capricorn team. These trained educators go into the schools Monday-Thursday and teach the Bible! Then, in the afternoons, they conduct Kids Clubs.

Living Hope teaches men to fish. Nothing is a handout. The goal is to teach them about Jesus AND meet basic needs.
HIV/AIDS is an epidemic that is taking out South Africa (and the world). I'm praying about how I can continue this passion and burden for these people. More thoughts on this to come!
