"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." - Malachi 3:10
Chan also writes, "Maybe you have already made sacrifices. If so, you have seen that in some ways it gets easier, doesn't it? You have witnessed the benefits of giving and are blessed because of it. But it gets harder, too. The temptation to level off increases with each passing year. Pride tells you that you've sacrificed more than others. Fear tells you it's time to worry about the future. Friends say you've given enough, that it's someone else's turn now. But Jesus says to keep on and you will see more of God." - Crazy Love pg 123.
I've been hit hard by this book and these particular pages. I feel like I can be a generous person, but it's often upon my timing and my comfort- not necessarily out of sacrifice and constant obedience. I want to trust God and give without reservation.
