. Capricorn Church service!!!!!
. Sunday nap
In more detail:
Today was a day I'll never forget.
First of all, I drove ALL THE WAY TO CAPRICORN in my car. I had 4 passengers and followed my friend Gordon who was taking the college team in a van to the same location for church. To get to Capricorn from where I'm staying, you have to drive over A MOUNTAIN, make a few turns at large intersections, and weave in and out of people in the township walking on all sides of the road. As you can imagine, I was concentrating hard and my passengers were helping me with their encouraging words and extra eyes watching traffic and people! When we got to church, my whole car cheered out loud and celebrated my first BIG journey with Prince William, my car. My friend Chris (from London) even took a picture of all of us around the car at the church building to mark the momentous occasion!
After I calmed my nerves from the drive over, I walked into the Capricorn Church, greeted all my friends, met new ones, and grabbed a seat. This church has called a new pastor (Severo) and a new youth pastor (Shagmie) within the last few months and the church is thriving! It was so great to hear this new team and worship with them!
The youth lead the music (directed by Volunteer Kendra, who I'm living with at the Volunteer House); Tayllin (about 13 years old) sang a solo and belted worship from her heart! I cried most of the service (especially during the worship music) because I felt God calling me to rest in Him and enjoy my new church! I thought it was really ironic that 2 of the songs we sang in the Capricorn Church were songs that we sang on my last Sunday at SMBC, and Pastor Severo preached out of John 4 (the book Pastor Danny Wood has been preaching through); I felt like my church homes (SMBC and Capricorn) are echoing each other and continue to remind me that the Lord is present ALL OVER THE WORLD! Severo talked about worshiping in Spirit and Truth and that we should worship God to know Him more and not because we want something from Him. The congregation was challenged to think on that thought, worship God with all that we are, in all areas of our lives and report back what God taught us in worship next week. I'm loving this place and especially my new church! Praise Him!
