God continues to be so faithful to the prayers of His people. Many of you read what's happening with ministry on my blog and pray for what's going on, others have specifically emailed and asked how they can pray, etc. Each time I've asked for a specific request to be lifted up, I see the Lord answer within a matter of days! It's been such a neat experience. It's reminded me of the POWER of prayer and that He is actively at work in South Africa! Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my requests. I'm tangibly getting the blessing and joy of watching the Lord bring life to your prayers!
A few posts ago, I told you about the day 22 teens showed up at Afternoon Club in Capricorn. Well, the guy that was new to the group and so honest – calling the 'regulars' out and telling them they're not living what they say they believe – came to Youth last Friday and Capricorn Church on Sunday… then to Youth Bible Study on Tuesday night … to which Shagmie led this guy to the Lord! This 'tough-messed up- drug using- skeptical' was softened and realized his need for the Lord! When Shagmie showed up at work on Wednesday, he immediately told me about this guy and we both rejoiced in God's hand upon each and every conversation and meeting we'd had with him.
Been working on curriculum for Teens Team- for the schools we work in, for afternoon clubs in the communities, and for Holiday Clubs (3 weeks during the World Cup months- June/July). Gave my testimony at one of the schools we work in. Had a girl come up to me and want to talk more about what I shared. I hope to get together with her in the coming weeks. I'm praying the Lord uses my story and experiences to reach others for Him. Otherwise, things are pretty normal. Work with Teens Team in the mornings, Capricorn in the afternoons, and quiet evenings recently. The slow pace of life here is refreshing! When I think about the schedule I ran when in the US, my eye starts twitching. I really can't imagine going back to that fast-ever –urgent way of living.
Please continue to pray for Living Hope, the Dollar-a-Day campaign and for Capricorn Church. As always, thank you for your support!
