Community Leader Breakfast

16 Oct 2010
11 churches and 21 youth leaders attended the Living Hope Teen's Team's Community Leader Breakfast at the ACTS Team House. One of the greatest goals of the Teens Team has been to unite the local churches (often in conflict with each other) in order to reach the youth of Cape Town more effectively. Meagan and I co-led the teaching of the event. I led Discipleship (why and how), Meagan led Mentoring (intentional investing in lives), and I led a session on the Personality Compass- a look into how God wired you and what that means for our individual leadership-styles. We wrapped it all up with a look at how to build a leadership team around the strengths and weaknesses that God designed us with.
The whole event was a success! I felt alive while watching the leaders mix and mingle and even more alive while teaching. We've only scratched the surface on training these leaders. They were all hungry for more- asking if we could do the presentation/course in their churches and youth groups. I'm so excited about the possibilities ahead. God has opened doors and given me just a glimpse of His plans for the future. As overwhelmed as I could be, I'm more excited than anything!

Here are some photos of the big event:

Breakfast: eggs, ham, toast, roasted tomatoes, cheese, yogurt, juice, coffee, tea! Laughter and joy filled this room of strangers- leaving as friends!
