Snow? In summer?

Christmas season recap:

There's a HUGE mall about 40 minutes from where I live. It's 3 stories tall, full of clothing, accessory, technology, and food stores. This was only the 2nd time I'd been to this mall - the first was in 2009 when I came to SA short-term.
I was thoroughly overwhelmed by all the people and sights and sounds. My little town has a mall - and at Christmas it was wild, but this was the Birmingham Galleria Mall x 10. I honestly had no reason to go, it was just something to do on an off-day; maybe I was looking for some festive spirit. Meagan and I just walked around and browsed the scene for awhile. It was definitely an adventure.
The greatest part of the mall-experience was the huge man-made snow park in the middle of the food-court. You could build a snowman or tube down the snowy hill... all for a hefty entry price! It was fun watching all the kids ooh and aah over the snow ... while wearing shorts. America and it's influence is unbelievable. Just because America is singing about dreaming of a white Christmas, people half-way across the world build fake-snow theme parks just to feel "in the festive season." I just grinned and took in the sights!
