17 Mar - Saturday: I had the opportunity to do some 'on mission' training with our visiting team. This group really took in a lot of new concepts in effective short-term ministry strategy & also looked at the call of the church to minister to & take care of the poor!
18 Mar - Sunday: Worship was hoppin'! Dancing, singing, and our congregation embraced our Shades family. Alex got to share her testimony with our church, the youth from Shades did a drama set to the powerful song, "In Christ Alone" and Scott encouraged our congregation and thanked them for their willingness to partner with Shades Mountain. It was beautiful.
Then we went on our Family Day Outing where 160 people from our congregation got on a bus & went to Braai (BBQ) near the ocean, played games & hungout as a family together. The whole day was fabulous and unifying.
We concluded the day with more missions training & debriefing.
19 Mar - Monday: Big Living Hope Tour & education of all that Living Hope does. Then, the afternoon Community Outreach was near the Primary School & we ministered to about 175 people in the community. We had loud music, crowd games, songs, face painting, soccer, crafts that advertised Living Hope Club times, balloon animals, a hip-hope dance from our Shades girls, drama about the Cross, and the Gospel message from Meagan! It was a powerful afternoon.
We ended the day by allowing Molly to lead a few courageous ones in one of her intense workouts and then had more debriefing & next-day planning.
I'm so proud of this team. I'm getting to spend lots of time with them & watching them grow spiritually & mentally - a huge transformation in many ways!
Thanks for praying. Keep doing so!
