"Former South African President Nelson Mandela concisely explained it when he said the following in a Heritage Day speech: "When our first democratically-elected government decided to make Heritage Day one of our national days, we did so because we knew that our rich and varied cultural heritage has a profound power to help build our new nation”." It's also a day to celebrate ALL the cultures that combine to make up South Africa and its vast ethnicity, traditions and colors! Capricorn - and our church - are prime examples of the mixing of races and traditions - making a Believing Unity, THE Church!
Thankful for the opportunity to live in a place that's so diverse and colorful ... Despite all its challenges, I see God's thumb print on us!
Remembering my Heritage today : originally American, sprinkled with a little South African flavor!
