A little fun to share ... 5k adventure with Meagan - 19 Oct 2013!
The Color Run trend hit South Africa and I was on board. But I have an open letter to The Color Run people:

Dear Color Run,
This 5k is a joke! Literally. I knew this was the "happiest 5k in the world" but I wasn't expecting this outcome.
Firstly, while I was really trying to jog this 5k, I ran over 1 child and 2 adults (on different occasions) who were strolling as if on a Sunday walk around the block. Maybe rethink the name: Color RUN!
Secondly, the "extra color sachet" in the race packet was confusing. Why should we have to carry this little packet of paint all the way through the 5k? Could you hand it to me when I go through the finish-line? AND ... some mischievous participants ruin the fun of the end-celebration-explosion even at the START LINE. Some are a little too eager to get messy.
And one last rant ... Coke and Fanta 'water stations?' Really? Where was the water? Some of us actually think soda is a contradiction to the health benefits of a 5k.
All in all, I had a blast! Such a fun way to celebrate summer in Cape Town. I'd do it again with a different expectation ... a less serious workout mentality. Come back to South Africa anytime!
