New Purposes

This past Sunday, 16 Feb 2014, our church kicked off our Purpose Driven Life Campaign. We're studying Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life book and doing a 40 Days emphasis with our congregation/Sunday Worship, Weekly Small Groups, and Kids Ministry! This has been quite the task; getting all our locals in a new mind-set to be connected and committed is a feat!

I'm praising the Lord for the opportunity to shake up our Kids Ministry. I was on the Kids committee for this campaign and asked the leadership if I could structure our Sunday School a bit differently. I edited curriculum, commissioned a local friend to make classroom dividers (seen below), trained teachers, and met with local teachers one-on-one to prepare for the opening day. I was exhausted before we even began!

Sunday morning in Kids Ministry went brilliantly. There's definitely room for improvement and we're making some tweaks for this coming Sunday, but I'm so pleased to now have 10+ teachers with ages 5-10 Sunday School and 4 teachers with 11-13 Jr. Youth! (We previously only had 5 total teachers)

Pray for our church as we continue this 40 DAYS OF PURPOSE! 

Pray for:

- unity in The Body

- for people to serve selflessly

- for Sunday School and Jr. Youth as we grow our teachers/helpers

- for Small Groups - that we find more homes to host groups and that fruitful conversation about our God-given purpose happens in community each week

- for Pastor Bruce and Pastor Severo as they lead our congregation each Sunday with a message on Purpose
