Art in Community

One of the ways I serve my community of Capricorn is through an Art Non-Profit called the Butterfly Art Project (www.butterflyartproject.org). As an outreach in mission, I'm able to give a few hours a week to this special place and use my love of art to share God's love to many. I LOVE this mission opportunity. I'm able to be deep into the community, work with students, teachers, parents and other Non-profits in our area!

Our lovely Capricorn Primary School Art Department, under the leadership of Teacher Firdous and the Butterfly Art Project added color to our community! This was a special day for some hand-picked, well-behaved artists could paint a wall in our neighborhood. This was a great outreach for our department!

We also participated in the Capricorn Primary School's annual "Madiba Day" - a celebration of Nelson Mandela - which ends up being a fair of sorts. There's games, food and music for the community to enjoy. Teachers and school volunteers are in charge of the day. The Butterfly Art Project set up a booth to advertise our children's artwork and get even more children signed up for our after school extramural art classes! Our staff had a blast doing this promo, meeting parents, and conversing with the CPS Staff!

Praising God for this open door and favor to serve in a creative way!
