Monday, July 20:
Headed to Orlando yesterday for a Conference: SLU. I've only flown on Southwest once before. It was a flight I'd like to tell someone about...because I'm not sure I want to relive it.
. It began by 200 people trying to organize ourselves in numerical order without any help.
. The territorial nature of the passengers kicked in and it didn't matter if your number was ahead of theirs or not, they tried to get in the front of the line so that they could claim their seat.
. Not being assigned seat numbers is a terrible idea.
. The plane was hot. Between my nausea, I was sweating and fanning with the emergency procedures brochure.
. The two guys next to me... obviously were with the same company, energetic talkers, and discussed video games the whole hour and a half... which made me even more nauseous.
. Landed with a thud, but was so glad to be on the ground.
. Then, out of nowhere, the flight attendant began singing "Zippity Do Da" which annoyed me so much. It was just icing on the cake from the hour and a half of misery I just went through.
. Wandered to baggage claim, tried to find some medicine to settle my stomach. Was green the whole time I was looking for my bag. I just hoped I could grab my bag without yacking on someone else's.
