Day 4

Thursday, Jan 14

It's sinking in. My suitcase is packed and the house is pretty empty. Next week, I'll be in South Africa and beginning a new life. My body will be adjusting to my new time zone and I'll be sweating in the summer heat. It's becoming real.

Dinner at the Powell's house tonight. A small group of friends joined up, had dinner by Donna & Jennifer, drank hot tea from South Africa and prayed for Living Hope, Shades Mountain's partnership and 2015 missions' vision, and for all the newness I'm about to experience. These friends prayed that Satan would be bound from this journey- that the Lord would protect my heart and mind from Satan's attacks and fear. It was a beautiful night- closing out time in Birmingham and starting this new mission in a commissioned frame of mind. It was a night I won't forget and prayers that will continue to echo in the ears of our Lord. I'm so thankful to have a church family and close friends that know my heart, have followed this 'call' with me and are in this together!
