Day 9

1.9.10 Saturday in Nashville

Woke up and peaked out the window... like I was 10 years old hoping for a snow-day off school. This is the scene I saw! How fun! I checked the roads, called Jay to tell him I was on my way and then headed to Nollensville!

Got to hangout with the Watsons. Those girls are growing up and awesome! After a cheese pizza lunch, we suited up and went outside to play in the dusting of snow. The girls wanted so desperately to make a snowman, but there was barely enough snow on the ground to make snowballs. Flakes fell almost all day long. It was a lovely, encouraging visit with Jay and Shantel. I love their friendship and am so excited about what Life Community Church is doing and where they're going. Big things ahead for them.

After I left the Watsons, I met up with Lindsay and Georgia. We went to a nearby mall and then went home and had some amazing Chili that Lindsay made in the crock-pot. We realized we were getting old when our idea of 'fun' was going home at 5pm, eating a warm dinner, putting on our pjs and staying in for the night. We wrapped up in blankets and talked, talked, talked. Then, we popped in the movie, Emma, and just vegged. It was a perfect, chill night!

Lindsay's Chili Recipe:
2 lbs hamburger meat
1 diced onion
[brown above together]
4 cans Bush's chili beans
2 cans kidney beans
2 cans red beans
1 small can diced chili peppers
1 can stewed tomatoes with jalepenos
1 can 'chili fixins' rotel

Cook in large Crock Pot on high 4-6 hours.
Add chili powder, salt and pepper to taste.
[We topped our bowls with sour cream, cilantro and shredded cheese!]
Thanks, Linds for wonderful food and friendship to share it with!
