Our Junior Youth Sunday School (ages 11-13) is bearing much fruit! These young ones - the most active and interested group in our church - are giving us all great confidence that our little church is educating and grooming the next generation of leaders.
With a strategic curriculum (Ken Flower's Frameworking the Bible), we're diving into the stories of the Old Testament and will hopefully go through the entire Bible in 2 years!
Take a look at our Jr. Youth learning through active drama (a few weeks ago); we had a Patriarch and Matriarch from Shades Mountain (Ricky and Nancy Thomas) visiting. It was so neat to have their attendance at Sunday School and Worship - especially since they taught grade 6 in the US for years - with this same curriculum! I appreciated their encouragement and help. Ricky even commented on how well behaved and engaged the class was. We discussed that this is the purity of a community that does not have access to teen-distractions (technology). These kids are excited to come learn and be together with their church family because this is a relational community and culture! I'm so thankful we don't have to bring out thrills and frills to entertain during class. My simple computer print outs and low-budget resources are appreciated and effective!
Praise the Lord for simplicity of the Bible and this Junior Youth class!
